Saraswathi Jones is a composer, performer, organizer and story teller. Her work is rooted in South Asian sonic traditions but branches into and beyond numerous musical genres. She writes and performs music for the stage, the theater, and for film and has released recordings both solo and with the band Awaaz Do. She has long been a fan of and organizer with the global Girls Rock Camp movement. She has also been a Fulbright Scholar to Bangladesh, a Banff Centre for the Arts composer-in-residence, a Helene Wurltizer Foundation of New Mexico fellow, and a City of Tempe Creatives Cohort fellow. She lives with her family beneath a sprawling grapefruit tree in Tempe, Arizona.
